Day 22: I’d Buy That For a Dollar
It’s no secret that I’m a big comic fan (I wrote my dissertation on them). I think its good that comics get into as many peoples hands as possible, because, like movies, music and books, there really is something for everyone.
I’m totally behind this latest initiative by Vertigo (an imprint of DC Comics. Yes, that stands for Detective Comics. Detective Comics Comics. We Know) to sell the first issues of their new series for $1 (80p). Ive bought a copy of copies of Grant Morrisons latest “Joe the Barbarian”, in the hope that I can win some of my friends over.
Hopefully the comic companies will pick up on this idea and adopt a similar approach to their new series. For 80p, I’d definitely give more comics a try.
