Day 46: please allow me to introduce myself

It just occured to me that we haven’t been properly introduced. My name is Robin Harman. English born, Northern Irish raised, with prodigal son like return to the homeland.

I’m trying to leave up to this blogs title, honest.

You’re looking lovely today by the way.

Day 45: Schmaltz

Look, it wasn’t meant to happen this way. It was meant to be a cynical “valentines for losers” kind of day. And then it happened.

Lovely day with Elisabeth, went to Selfridges, and bought her a bag! (of sweets, naturally).

She made me a lovely bracelet and card. And yes, I love her.

Day 44: Tender

Canadian, American or Scottish. 90% of the guesses about my nationality get it wrong. Also, I apparently have my hair on my face than a customer has on his whole body. Right.

Day 43 : but kid, I’m a pilot

2 gigs, 1 day. Dillinger Escape Plan at Camden Barfly and Fanfarlo at ULU.

Gig 1: mathcore, loud, sweaty, and (oddly) intimate, with an unexpected Tears for Fears cover. Not usually my thing, but great performance nonetheless.

Gig 2: indie folk pop, pretty and relaxed, with an unexpected Fleetwood Mac cover (I was expecting Smashing Pumpkins).

An eclectic day all in all, but my feet are killing me!

Day 42: onepointtwentyonegigawatts

Somedays I spend all day finding something photo of the day worthy. Other times, they just present themselves. Found in a charity shop in Chislehurst

Day 41: Lycan notes

So, Wolfman. I went in not knowing what to expect, and left satisfied. Given the films production history, the end result is understandably slighty muddled, but the story plays out well, and some good scares. Not DVD worthy, but worth watching should it be on telly in a couple years time.

Unlike Van Helsing which has just started on ITV2. Not even the hotness of Jackman and Beckensale can save it.

Day 40: inspiration

Today I finally finished The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. Next up, The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Pic today is from Wisdom: Ideas, part of birthday present from Elisabeth, hopefully it’ll provide some inspiration and kick start a creative streak this year!

Day 39: spoils

Since you asked, a selection of the birthday gifts I received. Thanks to all

Day 37: packing blankets and dirty sheets

Came home after a long day at work, and helped Elisabeth change the bed. Well, she jumped under the duvet as I was putting the sheet on it. Isn’t she pretty?
